The SKR Buy and Burn Program is Now Live

The SKR Buy and Burn Program is a recurring program that buys SKR on the open market and burns it. Since October 15, 2026, the program has bought SKR with revenue from the Solana Mobile validator and the Seed Vault Wallet, and every SKR bought has been burned onchain. The SKR Buy and Burn Program has already burned over 1.1 million SKR.

Every Seeker Used Plays a Part

Every day, someone picks up their Seeker. They might stake SOL with the Solana Mobile validator, make a swap in the Seed Vault Wallet, or use an app shipped to the Solana dApp Store by a builder last week. Across more than 121,000 activated Seekers (per Blockworks), those small moments and activity add up. Now, a portion of the revenue generated from that activity is used to buy SKR, the native asset of the Solana Mobile ecosystem, as open-market buys that are burned onchain.

The SKR Buy and Burn Program helps more closely align every participant who grows the Solana Mobile ecosystem. Seekers bring the activity. 793 builders ship the apps that give people a reason to use their phones every day. Hardware partners like Ledger are bringing the Seeker app to new devices and new people. As activity increases, more SKR is bought and burned by the program. 

Verifying SKR Burns

Currently, the SKR Buy and Burn Program operates using revenue from: 

•      The Solana Mobile validator. Revenue the validator earns from staking commissions.

•       The Seed Vault Wallet. Fees from activity in the wallet, such as swaps and the USDC Earn Vault.

The first monthly order was funded with $24,573 USDC. On October 15, the first daily buy bought and burned 60,885 SKR. It has run every day since, and as of November 3rd, over 1.1M SKR has been burned.
